“Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.” – Andre Gide

Who wouldn’t be in love with the sound of the wave crashing to the fine sands of the sea?
I once lived in a place where you can almost taste and smell the sea water in the morning breeze. This made me fall in love with the immense body of water which is no doubt, we can see everywhere if we only know where to look. Not everyone is captivated by the sea, some are frightened of its vastness and the danger it brings, and I was once one of them. You can never blame me for according to a study, more than eighty percent of our ocean is unmapped, unobserved, and still unexplored. No wonder, many of those petrifying and alluring species are being discovered in that deep, blue, and mysterious body of water.

Going back, when I was young, my greatest fear was drowning. I have no capability of saving myself if the ocean decided to consume and devour me alive. I almost died in the ocean, the memory of me, as I lay down on the bottom of the ocean and allowed the water to enter my lungs, is still vivid, As I sank to the bottom of the ocean, it simply did not occur to me that there was anything I could do about it, therefore, that time I gave up. I really am thankful to God because I’m still breathing right now, If I sank beneath the deep waters of the Sea, I would probably never had the chance to perceive the sea the way I see it now. Those are my past and now let’s talk about the present, I took swimming lessons and now I’m proud to say that I am a beach lover.
The moment I learned how to plunge and dive into the sea. A sudden realization struck me, every ocean is connected to each other like how people are related to each other but I’m still questioning the idea why we are classifying ourselves into different races, religions, and ancestry when in fact we all are just humans? Like the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean, Arctic, and Atlantic ocean should just be called an ocean or simply a sea but when I visited this paradise, I was able to understand the reason behind all of these. We are all different from each other.

Calaguas Island, also known as Calaguas Islands, is a group of islands located in the Philippine province of Camarines Norte. It includes the major islands of Tinaga Island and Guintinua Island, the minor Maculabo Island, as well as several other minor islands. The islands are around 200 km away from the capital city of Manila and can be accessed through the ports at Daet, Camarines Norte.

This Island taught me a really great lesson. I’ve swum in a lot of oceans and yet diving in the clear waters of Calaguas made me realize why we are differentiated into races and religions. It is because of the reason that we all are all diverse and unalike yet being dissimilar to one another doesn’t mean that we are all unequal. I have seen a lot of sea and resorts and still, I presume that all are unique, all are beautiful in their own way.

Calaguas has developed from being a unique destination to being a go-to place of sea adventures. The once calm coastline is presently radiating with life however regardless of the considerable number of activities, structures, and group, its magnificence still sparkles.
